Back To School Fashion

The first week of back to school always involves loud orientation activities, free food, and waiting endlessly in book-buy lines. Nothing is better than splurging on your back to campus clothing. Grab the basics now and start off your school year in style.

I can't get through a cram session or writing an essay without a pair of yoga pants. Fusion Couture's Oh Sheep! label is incredibly cute and reasonably priced. The capris look great and may help get you into the studying mood.

T-shirts and hoodies are an essential part of being comfortable, looking cute and feeling like a student. For the basics I buy Joe Fresh, Garage, Bluenotes or Gap tee's. Definitely add a bit of spunk to your wardrobe with Oligarchy's Stencil and Big Top shirts or the Called Hoody G sweatshirt. Based out of Montreal, Perplex and Lola have some seriously edgy shirts and I love House of Spy's Quadrasonic shirt that is now on sale.

Jeans that you can wear and pair with anything are your best bet. I choose a bootleg cut (not too loose and not too tight) that are free of embroidery or embellishment so they don't go out of style too quickly. Premium denim is the way to go for long-lasting jeans. Check out Sevens, Rock and Republic or Fidelity jeans at Holt Renfrew, Aritzia, or Body Blue Denim Lab (724 Queen St. W.). If breaking the bank just isn't an option check out the new Abercrombie and Fitch at Eaton Center, H&M or Wal-mart (you will definitely be surprised what you might find with a bit of digging).

Pair your jeans with a Truth Belt by Ryerson Fashion Design graduate Renia Pruchnicki. I love the Manhattan Belt in the green and the red because they look fresh but provide a no-fuss option for students who are already running late for class. If you want a sassy-sash, check out the Tropical Belt or the Blue Lagoon Belt by Canadian label Booty Beltz.

Now, you are finally set to get back into the campus scene.
