Blast of Bargains at Planet Aid

The Clothing Show was once again a blast of bargains. As I made my way through the crowd Sunday afternoon, a lot of the merchandise had already been picked through. By the time I got through the ATM and back to the booths on my must-have items list, sadly, most of the fashion finds were already gone. The lesson for next time: go to the show on Saturday and bring enough cash to get through the entire show. Wouldn't it be great if the vendors accepted plastic?

I was happy to see one of my favourite vintage stores, Planet Aid at the show. Planet Aid sells vintage clothes and also re-worked vintage pieces. The process is really quite cool. A bunch of Ryerson design students pull apart some of the clothes that are dropped off and recreate brand new, unique items that look funky and for the most part are incredibly comfy.

To find a blast of bargains all year round, check out the Planet Aid stores around Toronto. There is one at Kensington Market on Baldwin Street, in Cabbagetown on Parliament and the store that always seems to have the best finds around is located near Yonge and Wellesley.
