Queen Street West Mini Market

Since 1986, Rody and his wife have been setting up shop on Queen Street West from early spring to late fall. Along with 3-4 other vendors at this mini market located in front of the parking lot beside Lush Cosmetics, the couple sells jewelry of all sorts. With the vintage-bohemian trend in full swing this season, these vendors are on top of things.

Their wares include leather cuffs, silver rings, strands of colorful beads and braids, and chandelier earrings, just to name a few. Most items are handmade and brought over from the couple's home countries of Chile and Ecuador. The price range is around $5-25 and comparable, if not cheaper than the brick and mortar establishments along the strip.

The street vendors are a great place to pick up a gift for both sexes, too. Belt buckles, leather cuffs, silver rings, and braided bracelets and necklaces for the guys. There is lots to choose from for the girls. But if you're at a loss, I suggest a unique silver ring or bracelet as a safe bet.

My favourites are the chunky silver and turquoise rings, dark chocolate leather cuff, and multicolored strands of seed beads; the perfect accessories to dress up a simple solid colored tank and white peasant skirt. Now all we need is that elusive sun to show its face.
