Black Hoof and Arcade Fire to open Montreal restaurant

Toronto's Jen Agg and Roland Jean of The Black Hoof and Rhum Corner are teaming up with Win Butler and RĂŠgine Chassagne of Arcade Fire to open a new Haitian street food bar in Montreal on Rue Amherst in the Village.

The Globe and Mail reports that the collaboration between the restaurateurs, artists and musicians is to be "more of an art project" and a cultural hub for the nearly 200,000 Haitians living in Montreal than just a trendy eatery.

Expect the new restaurant's offerings to differ slightly from those at Rhum Corner, but the focus on the menu is still very much on authentic Haitian flavours. The restaurant is expected to open in the summer.
