Free things to do in Toronto every week of the year in Toronto

Free things to do all year long in Toronto go beyond walks in a park and beautiful bike rides. They're like knowing about a secret underworld of events in the city. Almost every night of the week, there's something to do that's absolutely free right under your nose.

Here are some free things to do every week in Toronto.

Multi-Day

Live music at the Horseshoe Tavern

There's no cover on Monday or Tuesday at the Horseshoe Tavern. Best thing to do before heading out is to check out their club calendar and if you like what you see, head down and walk on in for a free concert downtown.

Free Concert Series at Canadian Opera Company

Tuesdays and Thursdays at noon (and some Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m.) from June to September, you can catch a free concert in one of the most stunning music venues in the country. Artists from around the world perform here in vocal, piano, jazz, dance and world music styles.

Tuesday

Tour Henderson Brewery

Henderson Brewery in the Junction Triangle hosts free brewery tours every Tuesday from  7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Be sure to check their events calendar and register beforehand.

Wednesday

Free admission to the AGO

Every Wednesday night from from 6 to 9 p.m. you can walk into the Art Gallery of Ontario gratis. Some tips to make sure you get in easily: arrive early and don't bring a backpack to avoid coat check. On a sidenote, if you're 25 and under, admission is free daily.

Free admission to the Aga Khan Museum

On Wednesdays from 4 to 8 p.m. you can see the entire Aga Khan museum without paying admission. Unlike some that only allow you to view permanent collections on free nights, Aga Khan generously gives free reign.

Friday

Fear is Free Fridays at the Kingsway Movie Theatre

If you're a lover of horror films, then a visit to this Etobicoke movie theatre on Friday nights is in order. Every Friday at 8:45 p.m. the Kingsway Movie Theatre runs a different horror film and admission is totally free.

Saturday

Power Tours at the Power Plant

Every Saturday at 3 p.m. there's a free drop-in tour led by gallery attendants. It's also important to note admission to the gallery is free year-round.
