Toronto sucks

What attractions and amenities does Toronto lack?

What obvious things does Toronto lack? You know, things that by all rights we should have by now as the largest city in Canada and a place that's often touted as world class. I've been thinking about this for the last day or so after spotting an article on OpenFile Montreal that posed just this question in relation to its home city. And before I get to how bad we've got it — if, indeed, we do — let's stop and consider Montreal's plight.

Included on OpenFile's list of lacks for MTL are street vendors, ferry service, and a hockey museum (to name only few of the particularly brutal ones). We can proudly tell the world that these things can be found in our little utopia. And that's something, isn't it?

Still, lacks we do have, and perhaps in no short supply. I took the question to our Twitter followers earlier today, and if popular sentiment can be trusted, the number one thing this city is missing is actually something it's already supposed to have: quality public transit! Yikes, I know I wouldn't want Chris Upfold's job when I hear stuff like this.

Other popular suggestions included more late night restaurants, a central Toronto museum and library, a decent sports team (sorry Leafs!), pedestrian-only areas, and a properly designed waterfront. Oh, and not to forget, a credible mayor was also mentioned a couple times. Is there anything to add to the list? Share your suggestions in the comments.
