Howard Moscoe says he'll run for mayor if Pantalone drops out

Sorry Rob Ford, he's not Adam Vaughan. But veteran councillor Howard Moscoe says he'll join the race for mayor if Pantalone drops out. Whatever happened to silly reasons like "love for Toronto" as motivation for running?

Moscoe, who has been a city councillor for 32 years, says he wouldn't want Ford to be left without strong opposition on the left. A recent Ipsos-Reid poll put Ford in the top spot, 10% ahead of George Smitherman. Pantalone was ranked fourth.

Despite attempts by Ford to seduce him into the race, Vaughan isn't commenting on whether he's going to run, but did say that "raising the money would be no problem."

With two weeks left to file nominations for the mayoral race, there's plenty of time for someone to make a late entry into the race. Someone, anyone? Please...
