A 15-year old boy allegedly pulled a gun and fired several rounds across a busy Sheppard Avenue on Tuesday night, striking one of his targets in the leg and landing himself in a lot of trouble (..."three counts of attempted murder while using a firearm, aggravated assault, discharging a firearm and endangering a life, the careless use of a firearm, using a firearm to commit an indictable offence, pointing a firearm, failing to comply with the Youth Criminal Justice Act and failing to comply with recognizance.") Anyone want to make a bet? I figure he'll be a free (young) man within 2 to 3 years.

Ontario is looking to sell off infamous accused bike thief Igor Kenk's property, even though he hasn't been convicted (yet). Should they be able to do this? Hundreds of thousands of dollars are at stake, as are over 2000 bikes.

High Park area retiree and "prankster" Max Glickman needs to find a new "hobby," I think. He created, printed, and distributed to dog owners fake restaurant flyers for a fictional "Dog Liver Cafe" that touted "Authentic Asian Canine Cuisine" like "Poodle with Noodle." There's a term for this kind of behaviour. Although no charges were laid, the next stunt he pulls might be considered "public mischief."

Student debt is a terrible thing to have looming over your head after graduation, but getting to that point and not even getting the credentials that were originally advertised is even worse. Students are suing George Brown College, claiming just that. This will be an interested case to follow.

The worst roads in Ontario poll by CAA has once again crowned is underway, and Steeles Avenue leads the worst of the worst. And the association is calling on Toronto to invest more and more quickly fix our roads, because we deserve better. If only money grew on trees, eh?

Another international games bid push for Toronto is underway. Our attempt to secure the 2015 Pan Am Games is at a crucial point, as evaluation of our facilities takes place in a few days. Let's cross our fingers and hope that Lima, Peru, and Bogota, Colombia don't fare as well, and that the officials' visit isn't marred by brazen shootings, flat tires, and fake menus.
