Your morning news roundup for Tuesday December 18th, 2007:

Roads are still a mess and people are still driving too fast. A 25+ car (some media outlets are reporting as many as 55 vehicles), 15-minute long chain reaction of collisions on highway 400 yesterday was followed by several crashes on the Gardiner this morning (eastbound at Cherry St.). Slow down and leave more space, folks!

Clearing (some) side streets and piles that obstruct transit users and pedestrians is the next task for city snow removal crews. It takes a lot of time and effort to remove a lot of snow.

50 city-owned single family houses are in a state of disrepair and sit empty, while 65,000 households are on a waiting list to obtain affordable housing. Toronto needs to plant some of those magic money-growing trees, badly.

There's been an arrest in the mysterious Mississauga mansion maid murder.

Toronto Maple Leaf fan favourite Bryan McCabe has been injured and will likely be out 6-8 weeks. In 27 games he's notched 12 points and been single-handedly responsible for 28 game losses. Wrap your head around that! ;)
