For the second time this year, a credit card company is helping to pay for city services through corporate sponsorship. First it was the opening of skating rinks, and this time it's free, extended hours public transit. It's nice to see some of that 18.9% interest they collect on a hundred zajillion dollars annually used for public good.

People all across the country are spending a lot of time and money to save a lot of money by taking advantage of Boxing Day sales. The madness continues all week as people stand in line and ponder whether or not it's worth the trouble.

The Daily Bread Food Bank is well short of their food drive goals this holiday season. If you can afford to camp outside mega-electronics-store overnight to get an HD-DVD player for $80, you can probably also donate some non-perishable food items to help Toronto's hungry.

PM Harper delivered his holiday address, and took the opportunity to remind us that Canadians are such a kind, generous, bomb-delivering and country-rebuilding bunch. Defense Minister Peter McKay took a leisurely media-op trip to Kandahar, delivered some turkey and gravy to some troops, put on a camouflage jacket, and talked big about Iran being on Santa's naughty list.
