Baldwin Street and Mirvish Village Get Car-Less Weekends

I just saw some happy news from Spacing Wire - looks like we're getting more of a good thing this summer - Pedestrian Sundays will continue in Kensington Market along with two more neighbourhoods - Baldwin Street Village and Mirvish Village on Markham Street.

Baldwin will get the first Sunday of July, August and September. Mirvish Village will get the second Sunday of June, July and August. Kensington will get the last Sunday of each month between May and October. Put all of those together, and we're looking at a lot of car-less weekends this summer.

It's fantastic that the Kensington idea has expanded to other streets, especially in two more neighbourhoods that are crying out for pedestrians rather than SUVs from the suburbs. What would make even more sense is to keep this idea going in more neighbourhoods and for longer periods of time - some cities even have car-less areas all year round!
