The gaffe that won't go away

We seem to be getting near the point where blogTO is going to need to create its own "TTC" category, because somehow, in the last couple of months, our favourite (read: only) metro mass transit option put itself right back in the centre of attention.

Today, ttcrider.ca posted that semi-controversial TTC anagram map from last month on their web site, as an act of defiance against the TTC's actions toward the original artist, John Martz. In doing so, they highlighted two key issues:

1. The TTC is so desperately in need of a public image makeover, that not only are they snarling at artists that they should be on their hands and knees thanking... but they're also apparently unable to capitalize on the publicity they've inadvertently generated for themselves, leaving other entities (like ttcrider.ca) to do it for them;

2. How in the whole wide world is there an entire web site devoted to TTC transit fandom?!

Someone at the TTC had better take a sniff of the wind and figure out that there has never been a better time for the organization to get back in our good graces... mere weeks before the fare hike, to boot.
