The library's City-Wide Literary Series to Explore the Geography of Canadian Writing continues with Alistair MacLeod, author of Canadian classics like Island, and No Great Mischief.

Join Timeless Books for an evening of storytelling and music to celebrate the launch of The Glass Seed by Eileen Delehanty Pearkes. Participate in a taping of CBC Radio's Talking Books with Ian Brown. Ian and his panelists will discuss How to Talk about Books You Haven't Read by Pierre Bayard. The panelists include documentary maker and broadcaster Avi Lewis, writer Jane Urquhart and writer Ray Robertson. Part of the TRL's Literary Cafe series, and their 30th anniversary celebration.

Carolyn Gammon and Christiane Hemker, authors of Johanna Krause Twice Persecuted: Surviving in Nazi Germany and Communist East Germany will be reading. Originally published as Zweimal Verfolgt, and translated by Gammon, it will be of interest to scholars of auto/biography, World War II history, and the Holocaust.

Celebrate the Toronto release of Lorenz Peter's collection of comics, Side Effect (Pedlar Press). Lorenz Peter is a musician, painter and cartoonist land has been self-publishing the Side Effect minicomic series since 1993.
