CONTACT sometimes gets a bad rap for the quality level of its open exhibitions, but even if there's truth to some of these claims, finding hidden gems is always one of the more satisfying aspects of the month-long festival. Case in point: Dieter Hessel's photographs on display at Heliographics Gallery & Studio in Leslieville. Familiar urban scenes are given new life via the photographers keen eye for bold compositions. This is eye candy for Torontophiles.
