In our own way we are all on a hunt for treasure. A fantastic play at this year's Fringe Festival is aptly about that subject - except that it's not a personal journey at all. The Hunt For Treasure is a hilarious story about two awkward teens, Mark and Jason, as they obviously look for something that a pirate hid. The play thrives in both simple and complex humor; from a knock-knock joke to incredibly performed improv.

It is fantastically performed by the playwrights Byron Laviolette and Adam Risbridger, both have travelled with the Canadian Improv Team. They have been working on the piece on and off "since the last millennium." The play won Best of Venue at the Hamilton Fringe Festival and I wouldn't be surprised if it wins some equally good prize here in the Big Smog.

The characters have a few trials and tribulations on their hunt - the least of which happen to be ninjas with beards. As ridiculous as the play is, you can't help but care what happens to the lovable Mark and Jason which is a mark of well written and performed comedy. Once the play ends be sure to stay in your seat and listen to the theme song.

The play will be performed this Wed 11:00PM, Fri 1:45PM, and Sat 9:15PM at the Helen Gardiner Phelan Playhouse (79A St. George Street).
