Planet in Focus

Planet in Focus, Canada's premier environmental film and video festival continues today in 3 venues around Toronto.
Today's festival highlight is Shipbreakers, a Canadian-Indian film focusing on the job of, well, shipbreaking in India. Huge freighters , many of them saturated with toxins are dismanteled amongst atrocious working conditions where safety seems to be the last issue of the day with the mortality rate as high as one worker per day!

Films and an after party are on today's schedule including a Global Garbage Panel moderated by David Suzuki to close out the final film at the Royal Cinema, 608 College, 5-6:30pm. Tickets are available at the venues.
